The next Coffeehouse Films and Florida Film Networking event will be held on Thursday, June14 at 7 p.m. at The Buzz, located at 710 Harbour Post Drive on Harbour Island. It is held every second Thursday of the month.
This monthly film festival is dedicated to showcasing local independent short films. It has won two Best of the Bay Awards for its impact on the local independent film scene.
This month’s films include:
Nu Me by Anjani Pandey: What if you got a second chance to marry a girlfriend from your college days? John is fed up with his current wife and thinking of a 'do over'. – 9 minutes
Vomit Soup by John Miller: A crazy man (Joel D. Wynkoop) has enough of his bitchy wife and plans to murder her. – 9 minutes
Uncoupled by Monuca Bassi: Karina is a party animal in her 30's who does not quite live up to the values of her Indian heritage. After years of being hounded to find a "good boy" to get married to, she ends up at her cousin's formal housewarming party. Felling the pressure of the couples around her, she starts to question her sense of singularity, until a chance encounter with a stranger opens her eyes. – 17 minutes
ManStray by Mike Goedecke: A short look into the life of a dog picked up as a stray from the animal shelter … except the dog is played by a man … and he is naked. – 4 minutes
