Irving Brecher was a screenwriter known for his work with the Marx Brothers on such films as AT THE CIRCUS and GO WEST. He’s also known for writing THE SHADOW OF THE THIN MAN, BYE BYE BIRDIE, and contributing to the screenplay for THE WIZARD OF OZ. He began writing jokes as a teenager and would go on to write for radio & early television before starting his Academy Award-winning screenwriting career in 1937. Brecher was interviewed by the WGF on October 12th, 2007.
