Today’s casting roundup is a big one! “Street Dreams,” the upcoming BET series based on the life of hip-hop artist Nas, will hold an open casting call for an actor to depict the rapper himself! We also have a James Franco-produced feature and other great (paying!) gigs.

Casting is underway for a male actor aged 15–22 to depict Nas at age 17 in the scripted series based on his life, “Street Dreams.” An open casting call will be held at New York City’s Ripley-Grier Studios Feb. 12, with shooting slated for April and May, also in New York.

Short film “Costanza,” about a wealthy therapist entangled “in a love triangle riddled with layers from his past, money, and regret,” is casting for its title character. Seeking a male actor aged 18–60, the piece will shoot this spring in Boston, Massachusetts, and pay $100/day.

Feature film “Following Five But Preceding Seven” is casting talent for lead, supporting and day player roles. Billed as “a psychological thriller about a man who…must follow a trail of clues to answer the mystery of his identity,” the piece will shoot June and July in Utah and adhere to a SAG Ultra Low Budget Agreement.

Background talent is sought for feature film “Camp,” a coming-of-age comedy from James Franco’s production company. Male and female actors ages 14–18 are needed to depict campers in a shoot slated for Feb. 9 in Los Angeles, California. Those hired will be paid $72/eight hours.
